Having just played yesterday, the Craigmont Chiefs will head out on the road to face off against the Munford Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Craigmont is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses.
Craigmont pushed their score all the way to 57 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They lost to Millington Central on the road by a decisive 74-57 margin.
Meanwhile, Munford waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They were the clear victor by a 79-53 margin over Brighton. Munford has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 23 points or more this season.
Munford's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Murray Norman led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Norman is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Bell, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Craigmont's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Munford, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.
Craigmont came up short against Munford in their previous meeting on January 9th, falling 79-73. Can Craigmont avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
