The Timberline Wolves will square off against the Kuna Kavemen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Timberline is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Meridian, who was ranked 20th at the time (Timberline was ranked second). The Wolves blew past the Warriors 14-2 on Thursday. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Delaney Wright spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 15 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ashlyn Graklanoff, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and four runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Ysabela Pereira was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four RBI.
Timberline kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 14 hits in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Kuna, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Borah on Thursday as they made off with a 10-2 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Kavemen needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.
Rylee Mangum made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits (and not a single walk). Mangum was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Amber Harwood was a standout: she went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Remington Quick, who went 2-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Kuna is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Timberline, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Timberline has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Kuna struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Timberline took their victory against Kuna in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. Will the Wolves repeat their success, or do the Kavemen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
