Weldon Valley and Otis are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Weldon Valley Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Otis Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Weldon Valley posted their biggest victory yet this season on Thursday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 42-15 victory over Two Roads Charter School. The team ran away with 31 points in the first half and mostly just sat on those to pick up the win.
Dane Johnston and Zander Braun were among the main playmakers for Weldon Valley as the former scored eight points along with eight rebounds and the latter scored 20 points along with three steals. Braun continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayce Davis, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Caliche scored an imposing 60 points on Monday, Otis still came out on top. Otis strolled past Caliche with points to spare, taking the game 75-60. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Otis.
Weldon Valley's win ended a nine-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-9. As for Otis, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Weldon Valley was dealt a bruising 59-11 loss at the hands of Otis when the teams last played back in February of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Weldon Valley was down 48-3.
