The Warwick Warriors will challenge the Penn Manor Comets at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Warwick is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.
Warwick will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs on Saturday, then bounced right back against Hempfield on Monday. The Warriors walked away with a 15-10 win over the Black Knights.
Emerson Overly was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Reber, who went 3-for-5 with four runs.
Meanwhile, Penn Manor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 11-7 to Manheim Township.
Zuzu Hardy made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Haley Kreider was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Warwick is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Penn Manor, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Warwick hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. However, it's not like Penn Manor struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
