Basketball Recap: Peyton Extends Winning Streak to Four

Peyton extended their winning streak to four on Saturday, bumping them up to 15-3. They put the hurt on the Holly Wildcats with a sharp 67-45 win. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season.

Peyton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Perry, who went 10-for-20 en route to 24 points and three steals. The contest was Perry's third in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trent Gregg, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 13 boards.

As for Holly, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while Peyton is ranked 40th).

Drayden Williams and Josiah Stum certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Williams dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten rebounds, while Stum posted 16 points. Williams has been hot recently, having posted ten or more boards the last three times he's played.

Peyton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-46 win against The Classical Academy on the 17th. As for Holly, they have also already played their next game, a 61-57 loss against Kim/Branson on the 17th.
