In what's become a running theme this season, the Pikesville Panthers gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They claimed a resounding 84-30 win over Sparrows Point at home. Given Pikesville's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while the Pointers are ranked 87th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pikesville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bree Taylor, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Mariah Jones-Bey, who scored 13 points along with five steals.
Pikesville's victory was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-3. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 39.1 points. As for Sparrows Point, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-5.
Pikesville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Jaguars at 5:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Flowers will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
