Madelyn Vogan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 22 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Susquenita put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Philipsburg-Osceola. The Blackhawks were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Mountaineers. The Blackhawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 18 matchups by eight runs or more this season.
Like Sharon, Susquenita also got a great game from a two-way player: Ayahna Fleisher. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Fleisher was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Esther Feltenberger, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. Callie Brouse also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Sharon's victory was their eighth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Susquenita, their record now sits at 21-0.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Sharon hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1.1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Susquenita struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
