Softball Recap: Pace Has No Trouble Against Donna North

After only one run in their last contest, Pace made sure to put some runs up on the board against Donna North on Friday. The Vikings were the clear victors by an 18-1 margin over the Chiefs. Considering the Vikings have won seven matchups by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Sofia Alejandro, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Megan Mares, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Pace always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Pace's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Donna North, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Pace will take on rival Rivera at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: the Vikings have lost three straight at home , while the Raiders have lost five on the road. Meanwhile, Donna North is set to challenge their familiar foe Weslaco East at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
