The West Stanly Colts will head out on the road to face off against the Randleman Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Stanly will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Randleman is ranked 86th).
Last Friday, West Stanly took a serious blow against Monroe, falling 56-6. West Stanly has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, after a string of ten wins dating back to last season, Randleman's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They and Eastern Randolph were almost perfectly matched up, but Randleman suffered an agonizing 22-21 loss. Despite 93 more yards than Eastern Randolph, Randleman couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
Edison Hernandez put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown.
The losses dropped West Stanly to 5-5 and Randleman to 9-1.
