Having just played yesterday, the Hope Academy Trojan Tigers will jump right back in to play the Belleview Rattlers at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. Belleview took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Hope Academy, who comes in off a win.
Hope Academy has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 22 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 78-56 margin over East Ridge. Given Hope Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while East Ridge is ranked 691st), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hope Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dwayne Foreman III out in front who scored 22 points along with eight assists and five steals. The matchup was Foreman III's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Nathaniel Boyer was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six steals and five assists.
Meanwhile, Belleview's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting South Lake an easy 58-38 win. Belleview has not had much luck with South Lake recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Hope Academy is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Belleview, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
