Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Kehillah). They breezed past the Mid-Peninsula Dragons to the tune of 82-54 on Thursday. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 28 points or more this season.
It was another big night for Casey Clugage, who almost dropped a triple-double with 26 points, 16 boards, and nine blocks. Those 26 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tal Lerner, who posted ten points.
Despite the loss, Mid-Peninsula saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Oliver Carpenter scored 28 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Carpenter has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 16 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Michael Latour, who put up ten points and six boards.
The victory was the eighth in a row for Kehillah, bringing their record for this year to 14-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.9 points over those games. As for Mid-Peninsula, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Kehillah wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-49 win against Mountain View Academy on the 10th. As for Mid-Peninsula, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-47 victory against San Francisco Christian on the 7th.
