After two games on the road, Legacy Academy is heading back home. They will take on the Bosque Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Legacy Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Coronado, taking the game 55-42.
Legacy Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for five straight games. Cheyenne Snoddy was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with seven steals and six assists.
Meanwhile, Bosque didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against East Mountain on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 46-41 win.
Bosque got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lena Chavez out in front who scored 15 points. Chavez has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ainsley Capps, who scored 13 points.
Legacy Academy now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Bosque, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13.
Legacy Academy was dealt a bruising 58-15 loss at the hands of Bosque in their previous meeting back in January of 2022. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Legacy Academy was down 28-2.
