Two dominant guards in Kenzie Garner and Ava Bills are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Sheridan Blackhawks will square off against the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sheridan is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 14 games.
Last Thursday, Sheridan made easy work of Speedway and carried off a 48-24 win. The Blackhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Garner was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds. The game was her seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cecilia Timme, who posted eight points along with six boards and three steals.
Sheridan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Guerin Catholic played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Roncalli, falling 61-40. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sheridan will have to keep a close watch on Bills and Lillian Behrle, a pair of players who had a big impact on Guerin Catholic's prior game. Bills went 5 for 11 on her way to 17 points and eight rebounds, while Behrle earned nine points and five boards.
Sheridan pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.7 points. As for Guerin Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Sheridan has been crashing the rebounds this season, having averaged 29.7 boards per game. However, it's not like Guerin Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.4 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Sheridan couldn't quite finish off Guerin Catholic when the teams last played back in January of 2024 and fell 40-37. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Bills, who went 9 of 17 en route to 26 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. Now that Sheridan knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
