Jupiter Christian's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Parker Schenck, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Schenck has become a key player for the Eagles: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Luke Winters was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Jupiter Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, with a playoff win on the line, Berean Christian rose to the challenge on Monday. They put the hurt on the Cobras with a sharp 20-2 victory. Considering the Bulldogs have won six matches by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Leo Villarreal looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit.
On the hitting side, Reilley Moore and Connor King did most of the damage at the plate: Moore went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while King scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most RBI Moore has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nicolas De Filippis, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
The win was the third in a row for Berean Christian, bringing their record up to 7-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Jupiter Christian, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Jupiter Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Berean Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Jupiter Christian took their victory against Berean Christian when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 18-2 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
