Fairmont never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Butler Aviators 9-0. That looming 9-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Firebirds yet this season.

Jaylin Turner made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Turner was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paige Russell, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kinley Pigg, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double.

Fairmont's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Butler, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
