Upland (Calif.) extended its winning streak to 12 games with a 28-14 victory over
Redlands (Calif.) on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Nate Romine touchdown run in the second quarter, the Highlanders/Scots led 14-7 at the half.
Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at seven entering the fourth.
Upland's most effective player was
Tyler Bratton. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored 14 touchdowns on the season.
The Terriers'
Craig Lee played well. The senior running back ran for one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to 18 on the year.
Led by
Joe Mathis, UHS went into the matchup giving up only 17.4 points per game. The 14 points that Redlands ended with were well below its average of 25.1 coming into the game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Redlands, which notched a 55-27 victory over Chino Hills in its previous outing.
