Prince RVT took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Goodwin Tech. Prince RVT was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Goodwin Tech apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Prince RVT lost on Friday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cal Williams, who scored 23 points along with three steals. Williams scored a full 46% of Prince RVT's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Nate Baker, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
Prince RVT struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Prince RVT's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Goodwin Tech, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Prince RVT will take on Eastside at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday. As for Goodwin Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Platt RVT at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (Platt RVT is ranked 104th, while Goodwin Tech is ranked 116th).
