Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Highland Huskies, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell 20-7 to Meeker on Saturday. Highland's defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
John Bingley threw for 144 yards and a touchdown on only 13 passes. Jakey Wares was his top target, picking up 67 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meeker can attribute much of their success to Clay Crawford, who rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns.
Highland's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Meeker, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Highland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Meeker will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Buena Vista at 1:00 p.m.
