Brennan Scott and Ryan Morgan provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Lancaster Catholic. The connection went for 80 yards, the longest such play in Lancaster-Lebanon 1 this season.
Penn Manor extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Hempfield, 49-0. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Comets.
Manheim Township's dynamic duo of Scott and Tyler Karpinski proved tough for the Crusaders to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Scott threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns and Karpinski had 95 yards receiving. Morgan helped Manheim Township's passing attack out by catching four balls for 93 yards.
Roman Clay was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 244 yards on 35 carries as Lancaster Catholic fell to Lancaster Catholic. Teammate Carmelo Cruz added to the ground attack by rushing for 51 yards.
Manheim Township's Scott and Karpinski have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading Lancaster-Lebanon 1 in both passing and receiving yards. Scott has thrown for 767 yards this season, while Karpinski, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 31 catches for 414 yards. Bruce Harbach's team's Clay leads the league in rushing yards with 997.
The Crusaders' Clay is a mere three yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Todd Mealy's team takes on Lancaster Catholic. The Comets are currently in first, while the Crusaders are in fourth.
Penn Manor was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating the Black Knights 49-0. The Comets came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 47 last week.
