Walton is 8-2 against Chipley since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Walton will take on Chipley at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Walton is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Rutherford a 20-0 shutout two weeks ago. With that victory, the Braves brought their scoring average up to 6.9 runs per game.

Bella Baker made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Those eight strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those hits marked the first that she got this season.
In other batting news, Mackenzie Peels was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with five RBI, one run, and one double. Riley Wright also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Walton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Chipley entered their tilt with Malone on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past Malone 27-1. That looming 27-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Chipley yet this season.
Like Walton, Chipley also got a great game from a two-way player: Emily Mayo. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Mayo has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kenzlee Nelson, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Jadyn Pettis was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Chipley pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Walton, their record now sits at 3-6.
Walton couldn't quite finish off Chipley in their previous matchup on March 6th and fell 10-8. Can Walton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
