Glastonbury extended the longest winning streak in Central Connecticut I East this week by beating New Britain, 34-6. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Manchester lost to Hall 43-8 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Newington's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jake Hedberg threw for 258 and 2 touchdowns and Kyle Armour had 88 yards receiving. On the ground Isaiah Young contributed 117 yards. Andrew Grenier helped Newington's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 72 yards.
He was 18-29 with 1 interception.
Young was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 117 yards on 20 carries as the Indians bested Simsbury. Hedberg also contributed to the rushing game with 42 yards on the ground.
Newington's Hedberg and Grenier have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hedberg has thrown for 2,153 yards this season, while Grenier has 49 catches for 820 yards. South Windsor's James Nyarko leads the league in rushing yards with 876.
