Meanwhile, Joaquin's game last Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Corrigan-Camden 27-26. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
A big part of Joaquin's win came down to the chemistry between Trenton Runnels and his top target Cooper Bragg. Runnels threw for 112 yards and three TDs on only nine passes while Bragg gained 212 total yards and three touchdowns. Bragg didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made eight total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.
Joaquin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 219 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in ten consecutive games dating back to last season.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. San Augustine has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 190 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Joaquin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 240.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
