It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Seymour Owls can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Bloomington South on Friday, falling 49-14. While losing is never fun, Seymour can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 87th, while Bloomington South is ranked 12th).
Jack Pennington and Jaylan Johnson certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Pennington gained 110 total yards and a touchdown, while Johnson picked up 65 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Seymour's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Bloomington South, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-1.
Seymour does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bloomington South will look to defend their home field on Friday against Evansville North at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Evansville North focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Friday.
