Gavin Black Delivers Best Effort of Season
On Friday, Permian got the W thanks in part to Gavin Black playing the best football he has all season. Black's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his sixth straight game with at least 177 rushing yards dating back to last season. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 63 yards.
The win for Permian keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Panthers dukes it out withSan Angelo Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Chase Campbell's Rushing Yards a New Career-High
Chase Campbell produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Frenship to the win on Friday. Campbell picked up 68 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 104 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest reception was for an impressive 58 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total.
Campbell and Frenship will take on Midland Legacy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last time Campbell took on the Rebels, he picked up 144 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Elijah Mccoy Turns in Another Game with at Least 122 Rushing Yards
Elijah McCoy's rushing tear continued on Friday as he dropped his sixth-straight game with 122+ rushing yards. He rushed for 215 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry.
Midland moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. McCoy and Midland will venture away from home to take on Odessa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Big Game from Bridges As Midland Fell 48-47
Another Midland player making an appearance on this list is Stroman Bridges. He rushed for 116 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, and also threw for 31 yards and a touchdown.
Bridges must have Frenship's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Bridges saw the Tigers), he rushed for 209 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.

Rounding off our Top Five is Aiden Serrano of Midland Legacy. Serrano picked up 130 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground.
On the year, Serrano has caught 8 touchdowns while averaging 93.5 receiving yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had five receiving touchdowns.
