McCormick is 10-0 against Whitmire since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The McCormick Chiefs will be playing at home against the Whitmire Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. McCormick will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak alive.
McCormick can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Thornwell 76-11 on the road. With McCormick ahead 49-8 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Dequincy Jennings, who scored 15 points along with seven steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Demontae Wideman, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Whitmire had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took their game on the road last Wednesday with ease, bagging a 63-20 win over Thornwell. Whitmire's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
McCormick's win bumped their record up to 15-2. As for Whitmire, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9.
Everything came up roses for McCormick against Whitmire in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 65-29 victory. Does McCormick have another victory up their sleeve, or will Whitmire turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
