The Farmington Scorpions scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 75-68 victory over Sandia. The win was familiar territory for Farmington who now have five in a row.
It was another big night for Kapiolani Anitielu, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and ten rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kjani Anitielu, who scored 21 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Sandia still got an impressive performance from Sydney Benally, who scored 27 points along with six rebounds and five assists. Benally hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Audri Wright was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Farmington's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2. As for Sandia, their defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-3.
Farmington will be playing at home against West Mesa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Farmington is facing West Mesa at the right time seeing as West Mesa is stuck on a six-game losing streak. Sandia is on the road again on Tuesday and plays Eldorado at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Eldorado has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
