The Covenant Christian Academy Lions won the last time they faced the Phoenix Spartans, and things went their way on Thursday too. Covenant Christian Academy came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 43-36.
Despite the defeat, Phoenix saw an underclassman step up: J'Via Hill scored 18 points.
Covenant Christian Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Phoenix, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-16 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covenant Christian Academy will take on the Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Phoenix's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Kittens at 6:00 p.m. on February 5th. Southern Lab presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Spartans in Louisiana (the Kittens are ranked 15th, while the Spartans are ranked 181st).
