Denmark has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Lambert Longhorns at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Denmark is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lambert in Georgia (Denmark is ranked 96th, while Lambert is ranked 246th).
Last Tuesday, Denmark sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-44 victory over Valor Christian.
Emma Hempker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Denmark's points. Avery Huffman was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Meanwhile, Lambert's 21-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jefferson last Thursday. Lambert has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Denmark's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Lambert, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Denmark took a serious blow against Lambert in their previous meeting back in January, falling 74-34. Can Denmark avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
