After a string of eight wins, The Nocona Indians''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 28-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alvord. Nocona was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Alvord apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Alvord's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Troye Baker, who rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton George, who threw for 165 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Nocona's defeat dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Alvord, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Nocona does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Alvord will take on Coleman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Coleman will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
