The Triton Trojans lost against the Tippecanoe Valley Vikings back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Triton received a tough blow as they fell 49-32 to Tippecanoe Valley. While losing is never fun, Triton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 275th, while Tippecanoe Valley is ranked 26th).
Tippecanoe Valley got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ava Smith out in front who scored 11 points along with 6 steals. Smith continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Chesnee Miller, who scored 14 points along with 5 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Triton and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for Tippecanoe Valley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Triton has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Caston at 2:30 p.m. on December 9th. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against North Miami at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
