The Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy Cougars put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 66-48 victory over True North. Given Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 323rd, while True North is ranked 941st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Peter Kosyak, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Boyd, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
True North's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Parks, who scored 12 points. Parks continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Kavan Coffell was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy pushed their record up to 12-0 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for True North, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Kingwood Christian Life Center Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Central Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Central Christian Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. True North will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024.
