The Corinth Holders Pirates's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their tenth straight loss. Their rough 81-56 loss to Cleveland might stick with them for a while. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Corinth Holders lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tyler Sandaire, who scored 11 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Smith, who scored 12 points.
Cleveland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cam Walters, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Walters pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Michael Boone, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Corinth Holders dropped their record down to 1-19 with that defeat, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Cleveland, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Corinth Holders will head out on the road to face off against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully South Garner focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. As for Cleveland, they will be playing at home against the Storm at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Willow Spring's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests.
