Quartz Hill (Calif.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat
Highland (Palmdale, Calif.), 31-6, on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by
Osirius Burke in the first quarter, the Rebels led 14-0 at the half.
Quartz Hill expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. QH scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Royce Dirden.
Michael Sewell played well for the Bulldogs. The junior wide receiver threw one touchdown.
The Rebels' most effective player was Burke. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns. He has now scored 10 touchdowns on the season.
Highland's lone touchdown came on a 15-yard pass in the fourth quarter.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 23-21 win for Quartz Hill.
With the win QH extended its winning streak to three games.
Quartz Hill (3-2) goes up against Palmdale in a Golden game matchup next week, while Highland (1-4) locks horns with Knight also in a Golden game.
