Kent Denver put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Stargate School 58-16 on the road. Given Kent Denver's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Eagles are ranked 309th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Anya Peper continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with seven steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Austin Duncan, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Forge Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. The match between them and The Academy wasn't particularly close, with Forge Christian falling 51-33. Forge Christian has not had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Forge Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aleeza Olson, who scored five points along with 16 rebounds, and Maxine Rossi who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Olson pulled down eight or more rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Kent Denver and bumps their season record up to 13-3. As for Forge Christian, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-8.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Kent Denver hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 59.9 points per game. It's a different story for Forge Christian, though, as they've been averaging only 38 points per game. The only thing between Kent Denver and another offensive beatdown is the Fury. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Kent Denver took their win against the Fury when the teams last played back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 60-34. With Kent Denver ahead 37-15 at the half, the game was all but over already.
