Even though the Indiana School for the Deaf Deaf Hoosiers have not done well against the Traders Point Christian Knights recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Indiana School for the Deaf came out on top against Traders Point Christian by a score of 56-44. For Indiana School for the Deaf, this counts as revenge for the 57-21 loss Traders Point Christian walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Indiana School for the Deaf to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dylan Puent, who scored 18 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden DeFalco, who scored 15 points along with 7 rebounds.
Traders Point Christian's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joel Cook, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Cook scored a full 34.1% of Traders Point Christian's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Josh Dafler was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Even though they lost, Traders Point Christian were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Indiana School for the Deaf only pulled down seven.
Indiana School for the Deaf's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Traders Point Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Indiana School for the Deaf will be playing in front of their home fans against Phalen Leadership Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Phalen Leadership Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Tuesday. Traders Point Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Vermillion at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th.
