The biggest upset of the week belonged to Pickens, who took down 80th ranked Cass, 28-26. Tanner Brumby threw for 115 yards and one touchdown and ran for 75 yards in the win.
The Dragons moved up to 188 from 254 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AAAA Region 7A. Pickens climbed the ranks as a result of a 28-26 win over the Colonels.
Pickens' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Dragons feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Brumby has thrown for 556 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Jake Coleman has 14 catches for 228 yards. Shannon Brooks leads the league in rushing with 447 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Gilmer takes on Cass. At the moment, the Bobcats are in first, while the Colonels are in third.
River Ridge led AAAA Region 7A in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on Cedartown.
