The Canton Central Catholic Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the Kirtland Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Canton Central Catholic fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They took down Cardinal 26-10 on Friday.
Dan Boron was his usual excellent self, picking up 121 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 98 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Boron was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 65 yards.
Meanwhile, Kirtland had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 45.1 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 49-6 victory over Columbiana. Considering Kirtland has won nine games by more than 34 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Canton Central Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Kirtland, their victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-1.
