The Middletown Middies kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They received a tough blow as they fell 59-42 to Walnut Hills. Middletown lost against Walnut Hills in their previous head to head back in February of 2019, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 88-28 score last time.
Walnut Hills was led to victory by Savanna Hayes-Bogle and Cylee Leggett. Hayes-Bogle scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals, while Leggett scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Middletown's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Walnut Hills, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middletown will take on Hamilton at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday. Walnut Hills won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Mt. Healthy at 7:30 p.m. on November 25th.
