Two dominant in Mason Hoke and Carter Brown are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Ironwood Ridge Nighthawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy pushed their score all the way to 60 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a serious blow against Valley Christian, falling 93-60. Pusch Ridge Christian Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-28.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy's loss came about despite a quality game from Hoke, who scored 19 points. The contest was Hoke's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Noah McKinney was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Meanwhile, Ironwood Ridge was beaten by Tucson High Magnet School 90-33 on Friday. While losing is never fun, Ironwood Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while Tucson High Magnet School is ranked third).
This is the second loss in a row for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 4-3. As for Ironwood Ridge, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
Pusch Ridge Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 60-36 loss they got from Ironwood Ridge when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Can Pusch Ridge Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
