Providence Day is a perfect 10-0 against Cannon since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Chargers will head out on the road to take on the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Providence Day is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season.

Providence Day took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Charlotte Country Day School as they made off with an 8-1 win. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 5-0.

Providence Day's offense was hitting Charlotte Country Day School from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Blane McElroy led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Cannon came up short against Charlotte Latin on Tuesday and fell 3-1. While losing is never fun, Cannon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Charlotte Latin are ranked second).

Providence Day has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-1-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up five goals over those 13 contests. As for Cannon, they dropped their record down to 6-7-2 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Providence Day beat Cannon 2-0 in their previous matchup on April 8th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
