The Hobbs Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Trinity Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Hobbs focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
Even though Centennial scored an imposing 74 points, Hobbs still came out on top. Hobbs skirted past Centennial 77-74. The win made it back-to-back wins for Hobbs.
It was another big night for Abraham Pe?a, who scored 32 points. Another player making a difference was Jairus Turrubiates, who scored 7 points along with 7 steals and 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Trinity Christian strolled past Canyon with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 54-39. Given Trinity Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while Canyon is ranked 516th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hobbs now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Trinity Christian, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4.
Hobbs came up short against Trinity Christian in their previous matchup back in January, falling 63-52. Can Hobbs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
