They blew past Heritage Christian Academy 78-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Heritage Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Jason Leek, who scored 34 points along with two steals. Leek has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Landon Wells, who scored nine points along with two blocks.
Heritage Christian Academy struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Madisonville-North Hopkins pushed their record up to 9-9 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Heritage Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.
Madisonville-North Hopkins will head out on the road to take on the Blazers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. University Heights presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Maroons in Kentucky (the Blazers are ranked 33rd, while the Maroons are ranked 128th). As for Heritage Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m.
