Basketball Recap: Azle Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Bryce Robinson and Britt Haas

Azle was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They came up short against the Saginaw Rough Riders, falling 69-44. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 64-50 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Azle had strong showings from Britt Haas, who went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points and six assists, and Bryce Robinson, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and three steals. That's the most assists Haas has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jayden Taylor, who put up six points and five rebounds.

Saginaw's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trystan Overman, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 10 points and eight boards. Overman is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Eugene Roseberry, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Azle's loss dropped their record down to 10-20. As for Saginaw, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-18.

Azle didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 57-56 defeat against Granbury on the 24th. As for Saginaw, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-41 loss against Brewer on the 24th.
