Willowbrook extended their winning streak to eight on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 20-6 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Berwyn/Cicero Morton Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-3 on Monday.

Willowbrook got a great performance from Bobby Biggs as he tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Biggs has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Vinny Ippolito, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three doubles, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alec Ramey, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Willowbrook kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups.

As for Berwyn/Cicero Morton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-20 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

On Berwyn/Cicero Morton's side, they saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Vega, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Anthony Rodriguez was another, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Willowbrook will have a chance to go back-to-back against Berwyn/Cicero Morton: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
