Bradford has gone a perfect 10-0 against P.K. Yonge recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Bradford Tornadoes will be playing in front of their home fans against the P.K. Yonge Blue Wave at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Monday.
On Friday, everything went Bradford's way against North Marion as Bradford made off with a 16-7 win.
Kolee Lemire spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
At the plate, Amber Wynn and Addyson Hinds did most of the damage at the plate: Wynn got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Hinds scored two runs while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Regan Adams, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Bradford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Marion only posted an OBP of .421.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last contest, P.K. Yonge made sure to put some runs up on the board against Countryside Christian on Thursday. P.K. Yonge put the hurt on Countryside Christian with a sharp 17-2 victory. The Blue Wave's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Makenzie Radford was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. She also put up two doubles, which wereher first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alison Sanetz, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. She also put up a double, which washer first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lila Sutton, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
The win got Bradford back to even at 1-1. As for P.K. Yonge, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Everything went Bradford's way against P.K. Yonge in their previous matchup back in March of 2019, as Bradford made off with a 17-1 win. Will Bradford repeat their success, or does P.K. Yonge have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
