The Country Christian Cougars will face off against the Colton Vikings at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Country Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.
Country Christian proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 13) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Kennedy 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since April 16, 2024.

04/30/25 vs St. Paul | 1 |
Kelsey Mulhern made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Mulhern was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Grace Colvin was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.
Meanwhile, Colton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 12-6 to St. Paul.
Katelynn Kimsey was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Colton's loss dropped their record down to 5-12-1. As for Country Christian, they now have a winning record of 7-6-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Country Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Colton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Country Christian came up short against Colton in their previous meeting back in April, falling 7-2. Will the Cougars have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
