After flying high against the USC Hybrid Trojans last Thursday, the Neuwirth Leadership Academy Boxers came back down to earth. Neuwirth Leadership Academy lost to the Cardinals on the road by a decisive 38-24 margin on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 58 points in the game before, Neuwirth Leadership Academy couldn't push the score so high this time.
Leading New Designs University Park to victory were Brady Cerrato and Agustin Garibay. Cerrato almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds, while Garibay scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Cerrato also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. Jordan Collins was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 12 rebounds.
Neuwirth Leadership Academy's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for New Designs University Park, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 19-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Neuwirth Leadership Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Vipers at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (Magnolia Science Academy Carson is ranked 940th, while the Boxers are ranked 945th). As for New Designs University Park, they will head out on the road to challenge the Pumas at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
