The Cy-Fair Bobcats entered their tilt with the Cypress Ridge Rams with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Cy-Fair took their game at home on Saturday with ease, bagging a 45-10 victory over Cypress Ridge. Considering Cy-Fair has won seven matchups by more than 20 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cy-Fair to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trey Owens, who threw for 179 yards and three touchdowns while completing 93.8% of his passes. Owens is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Owen Carter, who gained 62 total yards and two touchdowns.
Cy-Fair's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Northbrook and 0-9 Cypress Park (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 22.2% over those games). As for Cypress Ridge, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.
Cy-Fair will head out on the road to face off against Memorial at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Memorial will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 563rd, while Cy-Fair is ranked 243rd). As for Cypress Ridge, they will be playing at home against Cypress Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
