The Southeast Halifax Trojans struggled with assists on Tuesday (the North Edgecombe Warriors had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Southeast Halifax took a serious blow against North Edgecombe, falling 68-29. Southeast Halifax was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-13.
Despite the loss, Southeast Halifax still got an impressive performance from Kemorriya Evans, who scored two points along with ten rebounds and two steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead North Edgecombe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Le'Lah Jenkins, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and four steals. ChyAsia Garrett was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Southeast Halifax has been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for North Edgecombe, they pushed their record up to 12-7 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Southeast Halifax will challenge Northampton County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northampton County will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Southeast Halifax surely won't give up without a fight. As for North Edgecombe, they will be playing at home against Northwest Halifax at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Edgecombe is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
