Geneseo proved they can win big  on Wednesday (they won by 14) and  on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  5-3  win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.  Cooper Warner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He is becoming a predictor of Geneseo's success: when he allows at  most one  hit the team is undefeated (and 3-4 when he doesn't). Warner was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run.

 In other batting news, Geneseo let  Bryce Patterson and  Preston Granger run wild. Patterson  went 2-for-4 with two  doubles and one  run, while  Granger  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  RBI. Those  two  doubles gave  Patterson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Tyler Churchfield, who  went 1-for-3 with two  runs.
 Geneseo was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive  contests.
Geneseo pushed their record up to 8-4 with the  win, which was their fourth straight  on the road. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Notre Dame, their defeat  ended  a  16-game streak of wins at home  dating back to last season and  dropped them to 7-2.
 Coming up, Geneseo will host Hornell  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for Notre Dame, they will challenge Elba at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday.
